House in Morbio Inferiore (CH)
Massimiliano Dell’Olivo, Marino Beretta
The building is located in a small historical village in the canton of Ticino, surrounded by an agricultural landscape characterized by green fields and vineyards.
The body of the building includes a farmhouse and an agricultural building comprising stables and barn.
The revitalization project involved the construction of three units: two in the farmhouse, simplex and duplex, and an agricultural building with access from the garden.
Vista dal vigneto
The living room of the duplex have been brought to the upper floors to enjoy the view over the valley, the bedrooms have been moved to lower floors with less scenery.
Vista dalla piazzetta del borgo di Fontanella
We have chosen to operate an intervention on the facades, considering them as a real canvas to paint. To do this we have used local materials (wood and plaster) and a range of colors taken from the local landscape: the yellow of Ticino plaster, the gray of the stone and burnished red of autumn grape leaves.
Vista della cerniera tra il rustico e la casa colonica
On the agricultural building, the gray boxes, the alternation of the masonry / windows and wood paneling follow the design from original factory body.
In the farmhouse rather the invention becomes total, we have imagined through the trompe l’oeil, a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional splayed window.
